Rumors of Efficacy

I like those three words together.

I read them in a book written about strange medical practices in history. These practices were used because they seemed to work. The author explained that most of the illnesses would have passed naturally but the medical profession embraced the odd tactics as successful because of "rumors of efficacy".

It reminded me of how inventive we are within the Kingdom of God and the measure of our personal efficacy.

And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully. 2 Timothy 2:5

This gig is not up.

Not until the last trump.

The days of winking and slipping by are done.

The law we live by in the gospel of Jesus Christ is timeless and applies to contemporary mores.

Our gracious Savior strives to communicate but let's not switch in our minds that His effort could be approval.
