Father God

I am suspicious of the term Father God. It makes me go into high alert.

Perhaps it is because I have not had an earthly father since 1967. The authority of a father is foreign to me. I have submitted myself to a pastor but he never took the place of a father.

I have no problem thinking of Jesus as a bridegroom, lover or a very present help in time of trouble but I have never put him in the position of Father. When I consider His works in the Old Testament before He robed flesh I call Him Jehovah.

I cannot call Him Father. To me, the intimacy between us is not a father/daughter relationship.

To me He is my Lord, my Savior, my Redeemer. My Jesus.
