All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. This passage of scripture outlines the promise of a Savior and the works He will perform because mankind keeps trying to fit Jehovah into their lives while imagining vain things: thinking anything that looks successful must be "of God".
When did the church of the living God start thinking we could go our own way and build bodies of believers any which way to get them in the door?
Full pews are nothing when it comes to truly ministering the gospel. Five people who fear God, following the scriptures will move heaven and earth more mightily than a thousand in a worship service who are dancing to the beat of the music while being ignorant of His real name and His purpose in donning flesh.
Those of us who have been called to preach His Word must make the message more important than appearances. If we accept the challenge of leading people we must also know we will give an account for bestowing assent to folks who have pretty much left Jesus out of their orderly, disciplined lives.
How does this happen? Maybe the pulpit is not filled with someone who wept to be saved themselves and therefore can nod at all the pretty people who fill their building regardless of their spiritual condition.
