Us and Them

Check it out!

The last verse in the book of Jonah.

The Lord brings up the fact that Jonah should be thinking of the 120,000 people who "cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand".

There is so much more to this scripture but what hit me between the eyes is the difference between spiritual enlightenment and utter darkness. Apparently, the Lord is very concerned about it too because he argues this fact with Jonah.

One of my dear friends was out Christmas shopping yesterday. After an unfortunate encounter vying for position in two different check out lanes, a woman announced to the whole store that she did not believe in Jesus and don't wish her a Merry Christmas.

Both check out lines audibly gasped as she threw open the exit door and left.

"cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand" - I remember not being able to "think things through" enough to feel confident.

I remember being told the Truth about a Savior and how I didn't have to rely on my fallible thinking anymore. I could relax.

People who don't know Jesus are nervous in the pit of their stomach. Folks, let them see Jesus when they look at you. That is my prayer for today that they only see Him.
