During my lifetime women have been encouraged to develop their own credit and be aware of the bills and insurance papers so that if they lost their husbands, they wouldn't be ignorant or a non-person in credit land.
Well, I would like to add to this. I think that men should learn to make their own dental and medical appointments. They also need to learn how to read the directions on how to prepare for the occasional medical procedure. If they don't start now and, heaven forbid, lose their wives they too will be lost.
Honestly - I sat in the waiting room of our local Surgicare and watched man after man look stumped while the female who escorted them led them around.
My husband is usually pretty up to the minute with instructions on how to build or fix anything around the house but if those instructions start with "no solid foods after midnight" he suddenly can't comprehend. I have also found that instructions on the side of a plastic bottle are also written in female-eze.
