Re-post Brought Over From Wordpress - Nostalgia

I miss my pastor.

I am used to hearing the preached word of God with the added bonus of how to pick yourself up if you ever fail.

Preaching convicts me but sometimes I need some untangling. He was good at that. He taught me how to preach that way. I don’t think I will ever approach a subject without turning it sideways and backwards to make sure all who listen can feel like they have a part in the Kingdom of God.

My husband said that he did not care for that kind of preaching because it made him feel like he wasn’t doing anything right. He prefers the preaching he hears now because it makes him feel like he will make it.

Jesus, what do you think?

The other day I was offered some pews. “Of course they need a little work” she told me. I guess they had been left out in the rain. Anyway, I daydreamed about the pulpit on my back porch and if I had some pews… There’s the furniture but what about the gusto?

Lord, make me hungry again. That’s that feeding the Holy Ghost I was talking about in the previous post.
