One of my employee's yard is swarming with activity because a movie is being shot in it. This man is our computer support guy working around computer programs and desktops all day. He went home yesterday to find Brad Pitt playing in his yard.
There are a few people around here who want to go and crash this movie set to get a glimpse of Brad. I guess you have to have a VIP pass to go home when famous people are making a movie around your house.
Now I have to admit Brad is one of my favorite to watch on film but I have no desire to see him in person.
I saw a famous person once. I think it was Paul Lynde. He was sitting in the back seat of a convertible waving in a Pork Festival parade. Oh, and I have waited on Willie Nelson's band. We also lived a couple houses down the street from George Strait's fiddle player. And one time I got a glimpse of the back of Ladybird Johnson when she was getting on an elevator.
Most of the famous people I would like to meet are dead. I figure I have a chance of meeting anyone alive if the Lord so chooses. So my desire is probably borne from not having had the chance.
For instance, I would love to talk to Abigail of 1 Samuel 25. In my imagination the questions I would ask this woman go like this. (Raising my eyebrows and nodding knowingly) So.... churlish husband, huh?
I guess we could have individual ideas of what characterizes a noteworthy life.
Brad, if the Lord puts you in my path, I will nod and say "how's it going?"
